Fall's coming.....right?

We're on the downhill side of September and are still experiencing 90+ degree days. The heat came early this Spring, and so summer seems to be lasting forever. But, we know cooler temperatures are just around the corner. They have to be.

Some of the trees are apparently trying to move it along; a wild cherry's leaves are already deep red. And some of the Virginia Creeper vines are showing the colors of ripening mangos. The Sassafrass should start changing soon, too.

We debated taking down the hummingbird feeders but there are still a number of the little rascals still hanging out, fighting and feeding. Ounce for ounce, they have to be the fiercest beasts on earth.
